OUR CIDER HOUSE RULES
1. USE YOUR OWN LOCAL APPLES
West Country cider should be made with bittersweet cider apples, not eating apples. Our ciders are made with beautiful bittersweet apples from traditional, unsprayed cider orchards. We don’t blend them away with cheap foreign eating apple concentrate. We worship these apples!
2. DON'T SCRIMP
A good cider should be mostly apple juice, not mostly water. A lot of the cider nowadays is 95% water and 5% apple concentrate. When you water down cider that much you lose all flavour. We don’t dilute our cider down to nothing to make it more cheaply, we craft each of our ciders for the perfect flavour.
3. DON'T BE BORING
Cider shouldn’t be boring. Just like hops and grapes, different varieties of apples can offer up an incredible range of flavours. At Branch we make big juicy bittersweet blends and super-characterful varietal ciders all with distinctive and delightful flavours.
